Who We Are

Bleecker Street Panto is a new organization, formed in 2026: a small, committed group of neighbors and theater-makers determined to put on a show, and to make it an annual fixture.

Our Mission

To bring friends old and new together through the magic of putting on a show.

We want everyone to feel welcome to take part, have fun, try something new, create something special together and raise money for good causes along the way.

The Team

A few people who thought New York was overdue a pantomime, alongside many volunteers.

Sean Topham

Executive Producer and Chair

A "veteran" of London pantomime, most recently as Nana the Dog in Portobello Panto's Peter-bello Pan. He believes NYC needs more community theater, with a role for anyone, on stage or off. No producing experience whatsoever, but how hard can it be if we all do it together?

Rafaella Rosenberg

Producer

A Tony-nominated, Olivier Award-winning producer. Credits include Oh, Mary! (Broadway, West End, US tour), Well, I'll Let You Go and Pepper Slit! Live From Her Living Room (Off-Broadway). She grew up in community theater in Winnipeg, and believes everyone deserves a stage.

Our Values

Have Fun

Try something new, step outside your comfort zone and just enjoy the experience. You don’t have to be an expert or have experience to take part.

Make Joy

A panto has one job: to fill a room with delight. We’re not Broadway, and we’re not trying to be. Like community theaters all across the country, we do it our own way, with volunteers and a fun spirit, and we send everyone home smiling.

Work Together

We share ideas, help each other out and make the show better together. Everyone has a voice, and clear roles and responsibilities keep things moving and turn all those ideas into a show.

Everyone Can Play a Part

There’s a place for everyone, whatever your background or experience. On stage, backstage, front of house or behind the scenes, everyone is encouraged to get involved.

Give Back

We want the pantomime to do some good beyond the stage. Net proceeds from Cinderella support the Gavin Creel Fellowships, The Colorectal Foundation and staging next year’s panto.

“Try something new or bring yourself back to your high school theater days. Community theater is a place for us all to have fun and make something together. In an isolated and online world what could be more important?”

“In New York City, a hub of art and culture, there’s still a place to learn something new, go back to something you used to love, and make something together.”
